“Sharing the same client on an Olympic effort, our agency found Lea-Ann a joy to work with. She was responsive, knowledgeable, and gave clear direction thereby making us more productive in our responsibilities.

Lea-Ann worked well under pressure and was able to keep a positive and upbeat attitude at all times. She worked extremely well with our team and we were lucky to have her as our contact.

We wish more consultants were like her.”

Thoughts on mentoring

Meet this pioneering woman who shares her candid opinions about mentoring.

I asked Fran O’Sullivan GM, Integrated Supply Chain, IBM: Are you mentored? Can you share with us why you have chosen to be mentored at this stage in your career?

Yes, I am, and I have several mentors. I believe in both the official mentorship programs, as well as the unofficial networking and mentoring. I mentioned the word networking, because as you meet more people you tend to pick characteristics that you make your own, whether to adopt, or to avoid.

Mentoring can be 2 secs or 30 mins, can happen anywhere, any time and it can come via my manager, my senior leaders, peers or employees.

I use mentorship as part of the puzzle called development. Development of relationships, of my style as a leader, of how I can make a positive and lasting impact to the company and employees. At this stage of my career, I especially enjoy reverse mentoring, where I have the opportunity to listen to what our future leaders have in their minds!
